About Us
Connections Makery Class was started in 2009 with a group of teachers and Dr. Neil Scott. The "Makery" utilizes a combination of traditional skills and computer-controlled machines to enable teachers and students to design and create real objects and devices.
Evolved from a pilot project at the University of Hawaiʻi, our Connections Makery class is designed to prepare High School and Middle School students for careers in high tech industries based on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); As well as "blue collar" careers as operators and programmers in the broad range of industries that are adopting computer-based manufacturing systems in place of manual labor or imported products.
